Having a Funeral

When someone close to us dies it is always a difficult time - not only coping with their death but all the things that have to be done and sorted out.  God can help us in times of stress and having a funeral in church provides all those who knew the person the opportunity to give thanks to God for their life and to pray for God's blessing, comfort and strength for those who will miss them most.

Our Minister is available to visit those recently bereaved, and to help plan the funeral service, at any time.  You don't have to be a member here.

To discuss a funeral at High Street Methodist Church contact our minister,
The Rev Jason Cooke on 01993 709874 or at the Manse on 01993 681041

Loving God, who brough us to birth, help us to live as those who are prepared for death.  Enable us to hear your message of death overcome and life renewed, that as we face the mystery of death we may see the light of eternity; through Christ our risen Saviour.  Amen.

In the presence of death, Christ offers us sure ground for hope and confidence and even for joy, because he shared our human life and death, was raised again triumphant and lives for evermore.  In him his people find eternal life.
