METHODIST HOMES SUNDAY

4 JUNE 2017 (at High Street, 11th June rest of Circuit)

MHA was founded in 1943 by a group of Methodists who wanted to improve the quality of life of older people in the time before the creation of Welfare State. We continue to have strong support from Methodists as well as other Christians to this day.

MHA is a charity providing care, accommodation and support services for more than 17,000 older people throughout Britain. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of older people, inspired by Christian concern.

Founded by members of the Methodist Church back in 1943, today we support:-

  • 5,000 older people living in our care homes, many receiving specialist dementia or nursing care
  • 2,000 older people living independently in purpose-built apartments, with access to social and leisure facilities and flexible care should they need it
  • 10,000 older people living independently in their own homes with the support of our Live at Home schemes across the UK.

We rely on the commitment and dedication of 7,000 staff and 5,500 volunteers who share our values. Together we aim to provide more quality housing, care and support services to meet the needs of more older people across the country.
