Welcome to our New Superintendent, Rev Rose Westwood

Witney & Faringdon Circuit is pleased to announce to arrival of our new superintendent, the Rev. Rose Westwood, and Minister for Long Hanborough, Charlbury, Stonesfield, and Sutton Churches. We look forward to a new chapter in the life of our Circuit promoting Gods Love across our local community. Rev Rose's welcoming service will be at 10.30am on Sunday 27 August at High Street Methodist Church, Witney. Do come along and give her a big welcome!

As well as introducing Rose to us all, it will also be an opportunity to welcome our new Chair of the Northampton Methodist District, Rev Helen Cameron, who will be preaching and leading a major part of the service.

The Service will include Holy Communion, and all are welcome.

Deacon Ellie will be taking all children who wish to join her for a session of Godly Play, and will bring them to join the rest of the congregation for Holy Communion.

Rose comes to Oxfordshire after serving five years in the SE district as presbyter, Assistant Chair and Superintendent. Previous to that she served 15 years in Cornwall where she was initially based in the Liskeard and Looe Circuit (working in largely rural churches and environments) and then as the first University Chaplain appointed to a Campus shared by the University of Exeter and University College Falmouth. This was an exciting post with challenges to establish and develop Chaplaincy for people of all faiths and none.

With a science degree in Geography and biology, Rose has maintained a passion for the natural world and has been very interested in the burgeoning area of eco-theology. Keen to explore different ways to make worship relevant for diverse communities, Roses' own spiritual life is sustained and nourished in prayer and in sacramental worship. In between work and studying, music, reading and walking have been integral parts of personal and family life.
